verity red part one
5 out of 5 stars
Engaging, witty and informative

I enjoyed Verity’s latest journal immensely. Each page is great fun to read, with little drawings, dialogues and daily diary entries. They are peppered with funny plays on words, astute observations and the occasional ditty with new lyrics to old tunes, such as “Easter time/One thing counts/Lots of choc/Large amounts”! Verity has been living with M.E. for a long time so chocolate is a rare treat. Her creator, Maria de la Mann, manages to convey the frustrations and painfulness of the condition, but has such a light touch that I just wanted to spend time with Verity in her quirky world, and hope it won’t be too long before Part Two comes out.
